That's exactly what our workshops are for!

Do I need to be a DN student to attend?

No, you do not need to attend regular DN classes to attend one of our workshops; they are open to anyone!

What should my child wear and bring?

Comfortable clothing suited to movement, along with the correct footwear for the style (trainers for commercial/street, ballet shoes for ballet-based sessions, bare feet for contemporary, etc.). A water bottle and a spare layer for cooling down are also recommended. Specific requirements will be listed with each workshop.

How long does the workshop last, and is it a one-off or a series?

Most of our workshops run as a single stand-alone session lasting half a day. Some workshops may run across multiple dates as a short course, this will be made clear at the time of booking.

Will my child be grouped with others their own age or ability?

Yes, where a workshop has a wide age range, dancers are typically split into groups by age and/or ability, so the material is pitched at the right level for everyone taking part.

Can parents stay and watch the workshop?

Parents are welcome to drop off and collect, and are invited to watch the final few minutes / a short showcase at the end of the session.

Does attending a workshop count towards exams or grades?

Our regular workshops are geared towards development and are not linked to exam syllabuses, but we do occasionally run exam-specific or grade-focused workshops; these will be clearly labelled.

What happens if the workshop is with a guest choreographer, is it different from a normal class?

Guest choreographer workshops are a chance to learn from someone outside our regular teaching team, often bringing a different style, background, or industry experience. The format and expectations for these sessions will always be outlined on the individual workshop listing.

Can siblings or friends attend the same workshop together?

Yes, as long as they fall within the relevant age/ability group for that workshop and there's availability.

Does my child need any experience to attend a workshop?

Most of our workshops are open to all abilities, but some (such as guest choreographer or advanced technique sessions) may be aimed at dancers with a certain level of experience. This will always be stated on the specific workshop listing.

What if we need to cancel or cannot attend?

We understand plans can change our cancelation policy is set out in our terms and conditions.
